 29. ROBERT HOWARD4 CASH (JOEL3, ROBERT HOWARD2, WILLIAM1) b. 15 February 1768, Amherst Co. VA; d. 14 October1835 in Lyon Co. KY; buried near the old homestead there.  He married SALLY GILLESPIE January 16, 1792 in Amherst Co. Va., daughter of GEORGE GILLESPIE.

Children names, birth dates, marriage dates,  from the Bible of Robert Howard Cash once owned by Lutie Cash Kinsolving, a great-grandaughter of Princeton, KY.  Typewriten copy obtained from Tennessee State Library, Nashville, TN.   This family sold land in 1806 in Amherst Co. Va. and then went to Princeton, Caldwell Co., now Lyon Co. KY.  The Bible says some of the children are buried near the old homestead, which homestead was still standing in 1961, when the Bible was copied.

31.  BARNETT4 CASH (ROBERT HOWARD3,  ROBERT HOWARD2, WILLIAM1), b. about 1781, died before June 19, 1854 in Amherst Co. Va. Date of  Admr's Bond, Samuel G. Cash.  He married SARAH TUCKER, daughter of CHARLES TUCKER, on 7 April 1806, Amherst Co. Va.

See Deed Bk H, p.614, 2 Sept. 1799, where the Overseers of the Poor of Amherst Parish bind Barnett Cash, a poor boy- 18 years of age- to serve Hiram McGinnis until age 21 and to learn the trade of sadler, reading, writing, arithmetic to rule of three.

Moses Cash left a Will, Book A:94r, Elbert Co. Ga.  Moses and Nancy Hudson Cash were the ancestors of Johnny R. Cash, the singer, who married June Carter of the famous Carter Family singers.   Moses resided in 1830 and 1840 Elbert Co. GA.

Since I have no definite deathdate for Elizabeth, Stephen P. Cash's first wife, it is not possible to know which wife, Elizabeth, was the mother of Parthenia , born 1836.  The first wife died between 1830-1840.   Parthenia was listed in the 1850 census of Stephen and Elizabeth, his second wife in DeKalb Co. Ga.  Parthenia also appears in the 1860 Newton Co. Ga. census with the second wife, Elizabeth.  A House family was living next door to Elizabeth in 1860.

43.  GEORGE WASHINGTON5 CASH (JAMES4, STEPHEN3, ROBERT HOWARD2, WILLIAM1) was born May 25, 1801 in Amherst Co. Va., and died after 1878 in DeKalb Co. Ga..  He married LUCINDA CASH January 03, 1824 in Amherst Co. Va., daughter of PETER CASH and ANN HOLLIDAY.   He resided in Amherst Co. until 1827, at which time the family moved to DeKalb Co. Ga.  My book [Our Southern Ancestors contains the Southern Commission Claim during the Civil War of this family].

The census of 1850 Rockbridge Co. Va. shows:

49. REUBEN5 CASH(THOMAS4, STEPHEN3, ROBERT HOWARD2, WILLIAM1) was born 1796 in Amherst Co. Va., and died January 30, 1837 in Nelson Co. Va..  He married BETHENA WRIGHT December 18, 1816 in Amherst Co. Va., daughter of MOSES WRIGHT and ELIZABETH WHITEHEAD.

The children of Reuben and Bethena Wright Cash come from their family Bible; information given to me by their descendant, Bernard Robert Cash of Witchita, Kansas;  all dates as given in that source.  Bethena removed from Nelson Co. Va. to Paris, Edgar Co. IL in October 1847 with some of her children.  Henry Harris Cash went to Westfield, IL; LaFayette Cash went to Oakland, Coles Co. IL; So did Marion P. Cash.  The John E. Jenkins family went to Edgar Co. IL, and then to Henry Co. Missouri.

As detailed under Thomas Cash, Reuben is not proven to be the son of Thomas;  he is proven to be the son of a Jemima Cash.  Here is a copy of what Henry Harris Cash wrote concerning her:
     "A History of my Ancestors.  grand Father name was Moses Wright a Revolutionary Soldier grand mother Wright maiden name was Elizabeth Whitehead to them was born eight children five sons and three daughters Benjamin Morris Moses Jessee and Cary Daughters Roda Bethena and Mary  Bethena married Reuben Cash my Father don't know anything about grand Father Cash  grandmother name was Jemima Cash never changed her name  I can recollect them all except Roda.  She married  Stephen Cotroll and movid to Ohio before I could recollect. all have passed away long ago   To Grandmother Cash had four children three sons and one daughter  Jessee Reuben and Peachy Daughter Mary   She married a man by the name of William Hudson.
Moses Wright--state he enlisted was Virginia fought in (blank) county, Amherst County Revolutionary War town   August 8, 1902  (signed) H.H. Cash " Spelling and punctuation or lack of it left intact by Bernard Robert Cash who sent a copy of this to Thelma F. Prince  in 1985.
