Sorrells Family DNA Project
This test will determine what Sorrells (or variants) lines are related or
not related, as all results are entered into a database for all of us to see
if a release form is signed by the person taking the test. Please consider
this new genealogy tool! Please notify every male descendant bearing the name
who you know about of this new way to prove lines. Male Sorrells from all over
the world are invited to participate.

Results of those taking the test already are displayed there. We are awaiting
the results from several more people who took the Sorrells project test,
including some Sorrell descendants from England.. Go to http://www.familytreedna.com to find out what the procedures are and
how much it costs. It involves a swab on the mucous membrane inside your cheek,
no blood is drawn and no needles. You order a kit with complete instructions
and mail it back to family dna.
Results take about three months.

If you are concerned about privacy issues they are also explained at the
site. You do not have to sign a release to have your results entered into
the database if you choose not to.
Male descendants whose
Sorrells name(or variant) goes back through their paternal lines are eligible,
because the DNA is passed from men to their sons through the Y chromosome which
only men have. There is a separate test for women to take for maternal lines
only. Full explanations are given at the web sites mentioned.Please ask
