242     IDELLA ALICE 5 SORRELLS (Wm. Benjamin 4, Wiley 3, William 2, Richard), born 1876 Bethlehem Walton County; died 1935, Bethlehem , Barrow County, Georgia.   She married WILLIAM THOMAS PRUETT (b. 4 Aug. 1869, Walton Co; d. Dec. 1949), the son of Mary Hataway and James Jefferson Pruett, in March 1894, Walton County.   Both are buried in Bethlehem Methodist Churchyard where they were members.

305 WILLIAM CHESTER, b. 31 Aug. 1899; d. 31 August 1987;  m. PEARL EDWARDS, Oct. 1923; members of Bethlehem Methodist Church and both are buried there.  Pearl was born June 20, 1906 and died 16 January 1996.   They lived in Bethlehem all their lives, and they had three children.  Chester gave information for the Pruett family and the William Benjamin Sorrells family (104).  He took the compiler on a tour of Walton County in 1979, pointing out many places spoken of in this work.

307    MAMIE ALICE, b. 29 Nov. 1906; d. August 1990;  lived Bethlehem; m. JAMES SORRELLS, son of OLIVER SORRELLS, died prior to 1979. 

308    LILLIE BELL, b. 17 June 1909; d. Aug. 1975; m. CHARLES PINKIE SORRELLS, son of Avie Daniel and DAVID LIUS SORRELLS (he died 1927).   Charles was born Dec 14, 1915 and died in 1973.  Their only child is CHARLES  WAYNE SORRELLS.

+243    ESTHER SELINA 5 SORRELLS  ( Wm.Benjamin 4, Wiley 3, William 2, Richard), born 7 April 1878, Bethlehem, Walton County, Ga.; d. 21 November 1953, Arab, Marshall County, AL.  She m. JULIUS OSCAR HARBIN  ( b. 4 November 1880, Bay Creek District, Gwinnett County, Ga) on 3 December 1901, Walton County, Ga.  Both Esther and Julius are buried in the Arab City Cemetery, Arab, Al.  Julius was the son of Barry Taylor Harbin and Frances Kennerly Harbin.

Julius Harbin was a farmer and carpenter who moved with his young wife from their parents' homes in Walton County, Ga. to the Joppa community in Cullman County, Alabama, in 1902.  Julius's uncle, Thomas J. Kennerly, and his family had moved to Alabama during the 1890's. The information for this family has come from Shirley Diane Brock Harbin and  Danny K. Harbin.

245  JAMES JUDSON SORRELLS (Wm. Benjamin4.Wiley3, William2, Richard), born 2 May 1882, Bethlehem, Walton County, and died 1 February 1951, DeKalb County, Ga.  He married MARTHA ANN MINERVA HUGHES (b. 19 April 1884, Gwinnett Co.; d. 19 August 1973, Ga.), daughter of Martha Ann Clack and William Edwards Hughes, Jr., on 23 September 1906, Gwinnett County, at the home of the bride's parents.  Both are buried Pleasant Hill Baptist Churchyard in DeKalb County, Georgia.  For more on the Hughes family, clickhere.

James Judson Sorrells was a farmer most of his life, but was also a sawmill worker and carpenter in his later years.  He moved from Walton County to Gwinnett County about 1921, and on to DeKalb County about 1934, where he lived until he died.  Information on the James Judson Sorrells family and his descendants was supplied by Thomas Vivian Sorrells  and Joyce Marie Sorrells Covington.

248  SUSANNAH ADLINE5BULLOCK (Sarah V.4,Wiley3, William2, Richard), born 5 May 1871, Walton County; died 12 June 1946; married BENJAMIN THOMAS MELTON (b. 9 Sept. 1867; d. 12 Aug. 1946), 12 December 1889, Walton County.  He was the son of Ferrell Jane Mobley and James Joseph Melton of Mountain Creek Baptist Church area of Walton County.  Susannah and Benjamin are buried in Ebenezer Baptist Churchyard, Harbins Community, Gwinnett County.

Information for this family was supplied by William Dewey Melton.   Dewey and his wife were of immense help in putting the Sorrells family of Walton County together.  They showed me, the compiler, gracious hospitality when she visited them in Gwinnett County, for which I am very grateful.
